The Gibson SG Standard '61 Maestro Vibrola T-Type in Aged Cherry is a limited-run masterpiece that revisits the iconic 1961 SG design, enhanced with modern refinements and a striking aged finish. Crafted in Nashville, this solidbody electric guitar features a mahogany body with deeply sculpted scarfing and the classic double-cutaway shape, finished in a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer Aged Cherry hue that evokes a vintage, well-played aesthetic. The mahogany neck sports a SlimTaper profile for fast, comfortable playability, capped with a bound rosewood fretboard featuring acrylic trapezoid inlays across 22 medium-jumbo frets. At its heart, the T-Type designation shines with Calibrated T-Type humbuckers—delivering a warm, vintage-inspired tone with tight lows, balanced mids, and crisp highs—wired to dual volume and tone controls with hand-wired Orange Drop capacitors and a 3-way toggle switch. The Maestro Vibrola tailpiece, paired with an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, adds smooth vibrato effects and retro styling with its Lyre-engraved cover, while nickel hardware, Vintage Deluxe Keystone tuners, and a 5-ply teardrop pickguard complete the classic look. Weighing approximately 7–8 lbs, this SG ships with a hardshell case and certificate of authenticity, making it a coveted piece for players and collectors alike.
